Welcome!

I’m Hien Tran and my passion and life’s work is to facilitate healing, offer nurturing care, empower and educate people in ways to enrich their lives through greater health and well-being informed by the wisdom and principles of nature based medicine systems and other wisdom traditions which are also grounded in an evidence based approach.

I have particular interests and experience in supporting people through great periods of stress, pain, transformation, major life transitions, grief, trauma, depression, low-self worth/esteem, anxiety, digestive health, fertility support, pregnancy, birth and postpartum care, with a natural , holistic, somatic and energetic approach,

I’m a Registered Acupuncturist in Australia by the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, a CMT by the California Massage Therapy Council, a RYT via the Yoga Alliance, and a practitioner of holistic health, energy medicine, and herbal medicine. Born in Vietnam but raised in Australia, I studied at the Endeavour College of Natural Medicine where I earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Acupuncture and Certificate IV in Remedial Therapies. I have also received some mentorship from Lorie Eve Dechar and Benjamin Fox from their Alchemical Healing Mentorship program and have studied 5 element acupuncture with Gye Bennetts, I have studied Alchemical Herbalism through Sarah Popham’s Evolutionary School of Herbalism, and ongoing studies with various teachers such as Matthew Wood. I have also gained a Bachelor of Arts at RMIT and immersed myself in the practice and study of fine arts: drawing, painting, ceramics, dance and music. I incorporate my love of art and nature as a foundation of my healing practice. I have been working in the healing arts since 2003 through various modalities such as Acupuncture and TCM, therapeutic massage therapy. herbal medicine, Flower Essence Therapy and Pranic Energy Healing,

I am Registered Acupuncturist in Australia, a Certified Massage Therapist, California, a certified Pranic Healer through the Ashish Institute of Inner Studies, and registered and certified Zero Balancing practitioner through the Zero Balancing Health Association. I incorporate therapeutic massage in my private practice as well as health retreats, yoga studios, day spas, corporate settings and special events. With over fifteen years of experience, my passion is to integrate the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms through my healing practice. In contemporary society and culture we have become too conditioned by the Western scientific paradigm of separation of mind, body, and spirit; however, Eastern philosophy and wisdom states that this is simply an illusion and we need to approach our lives and health by seamlessly interweaving those multiple realms to embody our integrated wholeness and realize optimal health and well-being. Through my health and healing practice, I do my best to provide a complete holistic plan for health and well-being.

I am a registered yoga teacher, with RYT200 hr Yoga and RYT300hr Advanced Yoga Therapy Certification. With over 10 years of teaching experience in Yin, Restorative and Gentle Therapeutic Hatha flow and over twenty years of personal practice, I’ve developed a deep respect and understanding of Prana, movement and stillness and the connection of mind, body, spirit. Due to receiving health and healing benefits from my own yoga practice, I strive to create a safe, compassionate and therapeutic healing space for my students and clients for them to drop into deep relaxation, rejuvenation and meditative states to unwind tensions and traumas on various levels and to deepen their capacity for Self-awareness, self-compassion, Self-love, equanimity, vitality and balance.

I’ve taught at multiple yoga studios in San Francisco including Purusha Yoga Studio, and The Center SF. I have also taught as part of the Purusha Seva project that makes yoga accessible to the under priveliged where I taught trauma-informed yoga therapy classes at the re-entry center at Healthright 360. I currently teach Yoga at The Open Space Studio in Abbotsford, Melbourne on Fridays at 5:30pm.

I embarked on the healing path initially as a result of my own experiences of deep suffering, personal and ancestral trauma during my youth which manifested itself as depression, anxiety, lack of self-love, and feelings of disconnection. In hindsight, I came to realize that my heightened sensitivity as an empath that lead me down the path deep suffering turned out to be a gift that I could cultivate to help others with. It was through the heavy lead of my own human suffering that was transformed into the alchemical gold of compassion, empathy and sensitivity to other peoples suffering that catalyzed me to want to help alleviate other people’s suffering. The act of being of service and compassionate practice to others was and is a major benefit in alleviating my own suffering and feelings of disconnection.and helps me to align to my spiritual path. To more fully realize the embodied truth of our interconnectedness with each other and with Nature was instrumental in healing my feelings of disconnection that is far too commonly experience in this Western Capitalistic, Patriarchal and materialistic culture that overvalues mental, analytical and logical intelligence, individualism, pragmatism, overworking and overdoing to the detriment of our intuitive, feeling and emotional intelligence , and our somatic & soul’s wisdom that has created negative impacts not just on a personal and human level but on a planetary level as well. Nature’s wisdom has always been my guide, and is embedded in the systems of medicines that I practice. I hope that we all arrive home by realizing our true nature by aligning ourselves with the way of Nature.

I’m also a passionate and nature inspired artist, creating plant dyed botanical eco-prints, ceramic arts, watercolor, natural pigment and acrylic painting. I am working on an art therapy healing offering, working with botanical plant eco-prints for individuals or small-groups who may be interested in immersing themselves in the healing effects of engaging in creative self-expression in combination with Nature, so stay tuned.

To cultivate a web of altruistic support, I regularly donate 5% of my income to support various non-profit and charity organizations that support Environmental and Wildlife protection and social justice such as Friends of the Earth, Shumi Land Tax, The Wilderness Society, ACLU, WIRES, Tree Sisters, Art to Healing, Sea Shepherd etc.,
